Zaanse Schans Route 30 km 1 hour en 40 minutes

This route takes you past the recreation area Het Twiske, with a beautiful nature reserve, along the meadows and peat meadow area, you will arrive at De Zaanse Schans and Zaandam. You start this route from Amsterdam or leave with the possibility of parking at Hotel van de Valk Oostzaan. You cycle through the recreation area Het Twiske, which consists for a third of water. In addition to relaxation by and on the water, you can enjoy hours of walking, cycling or rollerblading in the varied landscape. Forest, nature reserves and meadows. Here you can still play with the children, sail a boat or enjoy a lovely terrace on the water. You will pass the Reformed Church in Oostzaan. This is a cross church with a wooden tower above the facade decorated with rococo curls. This is the village of grocer Albert Heijn, founded at the beginning of 1860. You also reach the Oostzaanerveld, a beautiful nature reserve and beautiful with their peat meadow area, this leads you to the Zaanse Schans, this is the working area where you can relive the 18th and 19th centuries. You cycle along Ilpenveld where many special animal species have their habitat. Along the way you will come across cozy terraces and craft shops.
