This route leads you along the beautiful IJsselmeer and through the beautiful landscape of the area, including Medemblik and Enkhuizen. The route starts at the restaurant Vooroever where you can park your car. Than cycle towards Medemblik. Enjoy cycling with the wind on your face and endlessly overlooking the IJsselmeer. Get carried away in ancient times . Picturesque places that let you relax and just enjoy. Enkhuizen is known as Herring town because of its past in herring fishing. On the way there you come to the Tastiest museum in the Netherlands, the Bakery museum try to make your own lolipop. Located in Medemblik  you find the Radboud Castle inhabited by Count Floris V of Holland. He built this fortress to keep the West Frisians in check. You can let off some steam in the Steam Engine Museum. Nowhere else can you find so many steam engines still working together as at the Steam Engine Museum, located in the former steam pumping station Vier Noorder Koggen. A museum fun for young and old!
